Water Aerobics Equipment

Water aerobics is a great way to improve your health and if you have your own pool you will want to look into investing in good water aerobic equipment to provide great workouts that are also safe.  After the pool or other natural water source that is between waist and chest deep the water aerobic equipment varies depending on they style of exercise you are interested in.

The water aerobic step is one piece of equipment that can be very beneficial and provide an intensive water aerobic workout that can be varied to meet the individual intensity levels and needs.  Other pieces of equipment that are greatly beneficial include a well fitted swim suit, proper water shoes that are light weight but supportive as well as waist, wrist and ankle weights that are designed for water wear.  Adding these can create a more intensive workout.

Some more conventional pieces of water aerobics equipment would be a volley ball and net, water basketball net and ball and other play items.  A workout does not have to be a static routine of strenuous exercise but can include play and games.  Any activity that makes your heart work at 70 to 80 percent for a minimum of 12 minutes is considered aerobic, so have fun in the water with or without water aerobics equipment.  Music is great for a workout but make sure it is far from the water!
